Our Experience

Hedieh has been working as a midwife since 1993. She graduated from Tehran University in Iran with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Midwifery, and interned in Farah Hospital in 1992-1993. Hedieh practiced in Iran for nine years in various settings from pregnancy clinics to maternity wards in hospital. She was a member of the Midwifery Association of Iran until my immigration to Canada in 2002. She completed her training at Ryerson University and interned in the Durham region of Toronto 2007. 

Mitra earned her B.Sc. in Midwifery from the International Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran. She practiced midwifery in  in Iran from 1990 to 2002 and conducted over 1000 deliveries. Mitra became registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) in 2004 and worked as a Registered Nurse at the labour and delivery ward in Etobicoke General Hospital for a year to become familiar with the Canadian health care model. She successfully completed the International Midwifery.

My name is Mojdeh Hezarvand. I have been a midwife since 2014, first practicing in Iran across hospitals, community clinics, and my own private practice. After moving to Canada in 2022, I worked as a Medical Office Assistant before completing the Internationally Educated Midwives Bridging Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2025. Supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum is my honor. Delighted to be part of the Carnation Midwifery Clinic team.

Mojgan Naminiasl is a compassionate Registered Midwife with over 26 years of experience supporting women and families. Mojgan began her midwifery career in Iran, practicing for 10 years. After moving to Canada in 2003, she became a Registered Nurse and worked in diverse healthcare settings. She completed the International Midwifery Pre-Registration Program and earned Canadian midwifery registration in 2010, Her approach is personalized, evidence-based care for individual needs and values.

Doreen has a BScN in Nursing from University of Washington, Seattle and has been working as a nurse in Canada for 10+ years. She has specialty certifications in Emergency Nursing and Perinatal Nursing from BCIT and is a Labour and Delivery and Postpartum nurse. She also is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
